Organic Cotton Kids Clothing Brands in Australia Compared

A fair, factual look at how GOTS certified organic cotton kids clothing brands in Australia compare on fabric, certification and size range.

GOTS Certified Organic Cotton Kids Clothing in Australia: How the Brands Compare

If you're shopping for organic cotton kids' clothing in Australia, there's a growing list of GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified names to choose from: Purebaby, Aster & Oak, Wilson & Frenchy, Snuggle Hunny Kids, Grown, and us, Korduroy Kidz, among others. GOTS certification is the strictest widely-recognised standard in the industry, but "GOTS certified" doesn't mean they're all the same. The brands differ a lot in fabric focus, size range, and what age groups they actually dress. Here's a straight, factual comparison to help you figure out which one actually fits what you need.

Where each brand fits

Purebaby

Purebaby has been around for more than 20 years and is one of the most recognised organic baby clothing names in Australia. They exclusively use GOTS-certified organic cotton across a range that runs from premature baby essentials through to toddler sizes. Their focus is squarely on soft, everyday basics: bodysuits, growsuits, bibs, blankets, rather than outerwear or older kids' sizing.

Aster & Oak

A family-run, Western Australia-based brand established in 2014. Aster & Oak's signature is hand-illustrated prints on 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton, dyed with low-impact, natural dyes. Like Purebaby, their range is concentrated in the newborn-to-toddler window, with a strong focus on rompers and printed knitwear.

Wilson & Frenchy

Wilson & Frenchy covers the widest baby size range of the group, from premmie sizing right through to 18-24 months in their core range, with sleepwear extending up to size 7 for older siblings. Their organic cotton is GOTS certified, designed in Australia and made at a certified factory in India, and several lines blend it with organic bamboo for extra softness.

Snuggle Hunny Kids

Known for hand-painted Australiana designs (think native animals and botanicals) across swaddles, growsuits and toddler wear. Their GOTS certification (Licence CU 1182228) covers the full supply chain, and they offset shipping and operational carbon through Greenfleet. Like Purebaby and Aster & Oak, their range sits in the newborn-to-toddler window rather than extending into older kids or adult sizing.

Grown

An Australian brand built around unisex organic cotton knitwear in neutral, earthy tones, with sizing that runs further than most of the newborn-focused brands here, up to size 7. Grown also runs an OutGrown take-back program, offering a gift voucher for returned preloved pieces to be recycled, resold or donated.

Korduroy Kidz

We're the only one of this group working primarily in corduroy rather than jersey or knit cotton. Our organic cotton corduroy and sherpa fleece pieces are dyed using Dystar's low-impact dyeing process, on top of GOTS certification. We also cover more ground on sizing than any of the others: our range runs from babies through older kids, and unlike the other brands here, we also make adult corduroy jackets in men's and women's sizing (S-XXL), so families can genuinely match with their kids rather than just dressing the baby. Every purchase also generates a trackable environmental impact through our partnership with Greenspark.

Worth a mention too: Little Elinor (Brisbane) and Mosov (Brisbane) are two other GOTS-certified, Australian-based names worth knowing, both focused on baby basics (sizes up to around 2 years) with a strong local-manufacturing story.

Which one should you choose?

If you want classic, everyday organic cotton basics for a newborn or toddler, Purebaby, Aster & Oak, Wilson & Frenchy and Snuggle Hunny Kids are all genuinely good, GOTS-certified options. The right pick between them mostly comes down to print style and size range. If you need something that grows with an older child, Grown is worth a look. If you're after organic cotton corduroy specifically, want outerwear that lasts into the older kids' years, or want a jacket that matches your own, that's where Korduroy Kidz is the only option among this group.
